Microsoft Corporation's (MSFT) initial public offering was on March 13, 1986. Since that time the stock has split 9 times.  If you had invested $5,000 in Microsoft's IPO, you would have more than 6.6 million dollars today when factoring in reinvested dividends.  This is an absolutely amazing return for 30 years.  In recent years, it has started to pick up steam again.  In fact, an investment in Microsoft at the beginning of 2010 would be worth nearly $17,000 at the end of 2017.
All calculations assume all dividends are reinvested to purchase additional shares. Taxes and commissions are not factored into calculations. Data is property of 1stock1 and written permission must be granted before redistributing any data (in part or in whole).
