*In 2019, Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) acquired Celegene Corporation (CELG). CELG shareholders received 1 share of BMY and $60.00 in cash for every share of CELG held.
If you had invested $5,000 in Celgene Corporation's (CELG) initial public offering on July 28, 1987, your investment would have grown to over $1.2 million by the end of 2019.   However, if you would have waited until 1995 to invest in Celgene, that same $5,000 would have grown to over $2.8 million.  In recent years, Celgene's stock has produced very nice returns as well, with $5,000 invested in 2005 growing into over $94,000 by the end of 2019.
