Even without the three major spinoffs, Altria's stock has performed very well, but when you add in the value of the spinoffs, the total return is exceptional.  If you had invested $5,000 in Altria back in 1975, you would have over $10.7 million worth of stock holdings at the end of 2024 if all dividends had been reinvested.  Altria Group, Inc (MO) continues to earn excellent returns even with all the regulations and lawsuits surrounding big tobacco companies.   Part of Altria Group's nice returns can be attributed to the high dividend yield it pays on its stock.  In addition, tobacco is another item that people will buy during good and bad times.  Draw your own conclusions and moral opinions about Altria stock, but the fact remains it continues to make a lot of money and reward shareholders.
All calculations assume all dividends are reinvested to purchase additional shares. Taxes and commissions are not factored into calculations. Data is property of 1stock1 and written permission must be granted before redistributing any data (in part or in whole).
